Frequently Asked Questions
Please find below a list of common questions and answers. Please read these
before contacting us with a general enquiry.
How quickly do you reply to email enquiries?
- Typically within 2 hours
- In some cases it can be up to 24 hours
What are your telephone operating hours?
How quickly will I get my iPod back?
- We keep most parts in stock, therefore if you have sent your iPod in for a specific repair it will be repaired and returned to you on the same day that it is received.
- If we find the iPod needs more repairs than you sent it in for. Then we will confirm this with you via email, you can choose at this point to have a refund of 80% of the repair cost so far (return postage will still be charged if you wish to have the iPod returned unrepaired)
- If you do not know which repairs your iPod needs, it can take up to 3 days for you to receive a diagnosis from us via email. You can either confirm this diagnosis and pay for the repair, or choose not to have the iPod and sent back unrepaired (this will incur postage costs if you havent paid them already)
How do you post my iPod back to me?
- This depends on what return postage option you select when you submit your repair. The choices are...
- Royal Mail First Class Recorded (1-3 working days)
- Royal Mail Next Day Special By 1pm (1 working day)
What happens if my item gets lost in the post on the way to your workshop?
- This will be the responsibility of your chosen delivery method, and you will have to take up any claim with your courier/postal service yourself.
What happens if my item gets lost in the post after it has been repaired?
- If you select Royal Mail First Class Recorded...
- We do everything we can to help the Royal Mail locate the item, however ultimately this option will not insure your iPods value if it is lost and we do not accept responsibility for lost items sent through this method.
- If you select Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery...
- We will contact Royal Mail and try to find the missing iPod. If it cannot be found we will send you out a brand new iPod of equal or better specification. We will confirm colour and specification with you beforehand.
Do you use original parts?
- We use original apple replacement parts, however sometimes third party parts will be used if they are considered of better quality.
- Warranty on all parts replaced except logic boards is 2 months.
- Logic Boards are warrantied for 7 days from receipt of the iPod back to you, this is due to many different types of docking stations killing logic boards when they are plugged in. We recommend not to use docking station and instead to plug in via the headphone jack and aux input on the docking station.
What do I do if I receive my iPod back and the repair was unsuccessful?
- You have 28 days from the date the iPod was returned to you in which to email us with your concerns, and we will initiate a new repair reference. You will then need to send your iPod in with this reference. After we receive the return we will investigate the faults/complaints and email you with our findings. If the originally replaced part is deemed as faulty we will replace this free of charge and return the iPod to you.
- If no faults are found by our engineers, but you still insist there is a fault we will offer to purchase the iPod from you at a reasonable rate, or return it to you for a postage charge.
What should I send with my iPod?
- Please send only your iPod, do not send your earphones/cases/chargers/usb cables or any other accessories as these are not guaranteed to be returned. You can send your iPod in its original box for extra protection in the post if you wish.
Will I lose my music and data when my iPod is sent in for repair?
- When selecting your repairs you will be warned if music data is expected to be lost.
- If your selected repairs do not warn you that music and data will be lost, their is still a chance that the iPod will have to be restored to factory settings. You should backup your iPod using the latest iTunes software if you are concerned for your data.
- iDump is useful alternative software for backing up your iPod
Do you offer to recover lost music/data on my iPod?
- We do offer a backup/data recovery service which you can select as an option when you submit your repair. You will be refunded for 80% of the service charge if data is not physically recoverable. Currently data recovery is charged at £2 per gigabyte or £25, whichever works out largest.
How do I pay for my repair?
- You can pay via Credit/Debit card via Paypal.
Do you perform multiple repairs on the same iPod?
- Yes and discounts will be given when you select these repairs or when we send you a diagnosis.
What if I dont know which repairs I need?
- Select the diagnosis option when you submit your iPod for repair
